Best time for your Saint Lucia plantation wedding
The best time of year for a tropical destination wedding is between December and June. The best time of day for a wedding ceremony at Balenbouche Estate is in the morning or late afternoon when it is not too hot. The best time for photos is late afternoon until about 6:30 pm when it gets dark. If you book all of our 6 cottages, there is no cut-off for time for festivities. Otherwise, all events must end no later than 9 pm.
St Lucia wedding paperwork
We can handle all the paperwork and st lucia marriage requirements for destination weddings. Typically, you should allow for 2 business days to apply for the marriage certificate, though it is also possible to get an expedited license within 24 hours of arrival. You will need a valid passport and birth certificate, and, if applicable, divorce or death certificate, or affidavit of consent (if you are under 18). All documents must have an authenticated English translation.

Wedding Package Fees and Details
The fee to use the Balenbouche grounds for a wedding or commitment ceremony start at EC$ 600 (US$ 225) for a very small wedding of under 20 people. Typically, either a wedding planner or the wedding couple and family makes all the arrangements for the ceremony, catering, decorations etc. Balenbouche only offers the venue, but can recommend other services.
The marriage license must be applied for at the civil registry in Castries and costs EC $335, or EC $540 (same day). Additional fees include marriage officer, marriage certificate, and registrar fees.
Events that last until after 6 pm are an additional EC$ 100 per hour, up to 9 pm, at which time the event must come to an end.
The venue fee covers the use of the grounds, parking, restrooms, electricity, water and security. We can recommend caterers, tent and table rental, a photographer, as well as a full service wedding planner. Please contact us for more information.
There is a refundable deposit of EC $1000 which is to cover any damages, and the additional fee for late events. The balance is due the day of the wedding.
