Dominica

When you think of an Eco lodge in the Caribbean, Dominica often comes to mind. Dominica is known as the “nature island” of the West Indies and offers numerous eco friendly properties set within the rainforest and near its famous rivers and waterfalls. Some of our favorites include; Rosalie forest, Papillote Wilderness resort, 3 Rivers and Citrus Creek Plantation.

Belmont, Grenada

Grenada

Mount EdgeCombe, established in 1763, is an authentic working plantation which originally grew sugar cane, but later became a spice, cocoa and coffee plantation. Today, as a small luxury boutique hotel, the traditional accommodation, sleeping up to 16, is surrounded by 28 acres of verdant and colourful flora, with over 40 types of aromatic spices, fruit and vegetables.

Belmont Estate is one of Grenada’s premier agri-tourism attractions and well worth a visit; tours include visits to the organic farm, gardens, heritage museum, and cocoa processing facilities. The restaurant features traditional Grenadian cuisine. The property also includes a goat dairy farm, petting farm, conference room, gift shop, café, produce shop, credit union and craft market.

Barbados

Barbados is known for its beautiful beaches and colonial architecture, including many historic plantations. Two caribbean eco lodges worth mentioning are; Aunt Nea’s Inn and Sweetfield Manor.

In St. Kitts and Nevis, check out these beautiful historic properties: Hermitage, Ottley’s Plantation Inn and Golden Rock Inn

There is a small restaurant and gift shop, and they plan to add accommodations soon.
